Introducing Dr. Gaetano Buttitta

“I admit, I was a skeptic,” remembers Dr. Buttitta. “But my parents insisted that I try chiropractic since I was experiencing almost daily headaches after a football injury. I was reluctant, but to humor my parents I made an appointment to see Dr. Castella, a local chiropractor."

“It was incredible,” continues Dr. Buttitta. “I’ll never forget that first adjustment. It was as if a huge weight was suddenly lifted from my shoulders. That’s when I decided I wanted to be a chiropractor.”

Dr. Buttitta attended Saint Peter's College on a academic scholarship.  He majored in Biology and received his Bachelor of Science degree.

After completing his study there, he was accepted at New York Chiropractic College.  During his four years at Palmer, courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, X-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the New York Chiropractic Clinic in Levittown, New York. After graduating in 1990 and working for several years, Dr. Buttitta established Nutley Chiropractic Group in 1992.  He went on to establish practices in Elizabeth and in Newark. Because of family and children, Dr. Buttitta now only maintains the Nutley office.

"We love skeptics,” smiles Dr. Buttitta. “I still remember the concerns and apprehension I had when I went to the chiropractor for the first time. So we make it a point to explain everything in advance, answer questions and attempt to over communicate. Patients appreciate that.”

Dr. Buttitta met his wife Debbie at chiropractic School and they have four children, Alexandra, Julia, Samantha and Anthony.
